It was early February in Montréal, which means still-freezing and absolutely not spring. But that didn’t stop me from entering full seasonal denial. There I was, bundled indoors, sipping something warm and scrolling endlessly for spring outfit inspiration—Pinterest, Instagram, my favorite blogs like The Everygirl. I was deep in OOTD mood-boarding mode, pretending like there wasn’t a snowbank outside my window.
Then came the closet dive.
I was excited to play with what I had and start curating a few spring looks. But surprise: neutrals, neutrals, and more neutrals. Beige, white, maybe some navy. Nothing bold, nothing bright—and worst of all, I realized my jeans situation was tragic. Too small, too big, too skinny, too stiff. Even though I love wearing whatever feels right regardless of trends, these jeans just didn’t feel like me anymore. I wanted something looser, cooler, and more 2025.
And since it was too cold to face the streets, I did what every self-respecting winter fashion girl does: I went online shopping.
Now, I’ll admit—I’m loyal to denim from Aritzia and Levi’s, but on a whim, I clicked over to H&M. Just a quick scroll turned into a full-on cart situation. I ordered three pairs of jeans thinking, Whatever doesn’t work, I’ll just return—it’s so easy with H&M anyway.
But plot twist: I loved all of them.
Yes, all three.
Each pair fit like they were custom made. High-waisted, wide-legged, relaxed but structured—basically, jeans that understood the assignment. They were effortlessly cool, comfy enough for day-long wear, and chic enough to dress up. The quality? Shockingly good. The styles? So on point. I felt like H&M had hacked into my fashion brain.
And no, I couldn’t commit to just one. I kept all three.
The first pair are these wide high jeans in denim blue:

The second pair are these Wide high jeans in a lighter shade:

And the third pair are these 5 pocket Wide cut jeans in dark denim blue:

To balance out my closet of neutrals, I also threw in a few pieces of color: a baby blue oversized sweater, a long red viscose skirt, and a basic pink long sleeve tee. But that’s a story for another post—this one is all about the denim.
I usually love shopping in store (I’m a tactile girl), but honestly? Shopping online, trying everything on at home, and playing dress-up with my own wardrobe was a vibe. It let me visualize full outfits, feel the fabrics in my space, and see what worked with what I already owned. The only danger? I liked everything. Return pile: zero.
Long story short—H&M is doing something right. And I’ll absolutely be modeling these jeans for you soon, because they deserve their own moment. These aren’t just spring jeans—they’re all-year jeans, and they’ve officially earned a front-row spot in my closet.
